40th Anniversary of Suojalaite Oy - Safety Equipment Co.

Catalogue from 1961 and 1999

40 years ago on the 13th of February 1959 a new company called Suojalaite Oy - Safety Equipment Co. was registered in Helsinki, Finland. Already during the previous summer the Board of Directors of The Finnish Accident Prevention Association had decided to create this enterprise. It started functioning in 1959. Suojalaite Oy - Safety Equipment Co. celebrates its anniversary with continued dedication to high quality in products and services. Success in reaching these coals is visible at the workplaces, farms and even private homes in lessening accidents and occupational diseases with the help of safer and more user friendly products.

Finnish pilot boats - Safety against falling off the ship

Finnish pilots operate in demanding conditions. Pilots must service ships on the rocky Finnish waters regardless of weather in sunshine and in storm, in winter and in summer. Falling into the icy winter water could be fatal. Many Finnish pilot boats are now equipped with safety systems installed by Suojalaite Oy.

Finnish Chamber of Commerce Medals The Finnish Central Chamber of Commerce has granted following medals of merit in honour of successful service in Suojalaite Oy -Safety Equipment Co. for the benefit of Finnish economy. silver medal of merit (25 years of service): Sales secretary Seija Nieminen (3rd from right), bronze medal of merit (10 years of service): Stock keeper Markku Härkönen (2nd from right) Production Manager Urho Ronkainen (2nd from left) Office secretary Irma Yrjölä (3rd from left) Medals were handed over on the 12th of February 1999 by the President of the Board of Directors of Suojalaite Oy, Councillor Esa Lonka (left) and Executive Director Martti Humppila (right).
	Tapio Virtanen, sales representative (9/1998) Mr. Tapio Virtanen, Bachelor of Commerce has been appointed as sales representative. He has joined our sales department in September 1998. .
	Terttu Jumppanen, accountant (7/1998) Mrs. Terttu Jumppanen, Bachelor of Commerce has started as our accountant in July 1998.
